Concept Note:

The connections between faith, gender equality and violence against women and girls are increasingly discussed in academic, practitioner and faith spaces. We are seeking to build a consortium committed to develop and validate a Religion & VAWG scale, to be of particular use in the development of interventions, as well as the evaluation of interventions. JLI, SVRI, Side by Side, WVI and URDR Stellenbosch University have already expressed interest in the development of this scale. The vision is a scale that will be usable in different contexts, with different religions, relevant to MEAL frameworks, general VAWG or SGBV studies and to allow for comparable data and synthesis of learning.
